A new report has surfaced that is sure to get Marvel fans excited. According to MCU Cosmic, Marvel Studios is looking to cast Keanu Reeves in The Eternals. Apparently, the actor is currently in negotiations with the studio!
If this rumor turns out to be true it would be pretty awesome. I was wondering when we would finally see Reeves star in a Marvel movie! There’s no information on who exactly he would be playing in the movie if he’s cast. Marvel has been wanting to work with Reeves, and was actually originally cast in the role of of Yon-Rogg in Captain Marvel. He had to drop out, though, when John Wick: Chapter 3 got the greenlight and that’s when Jude Law stepped in.
The movie currently stars Angelina Jolie possibly as Sersi, Kumail Nanjiani (Silicon Valley, The Big Sick), and Ma Dong-seok (Train to Busan). Some of the characters who have been rumored to appear in the film include Karen, Hercules, Druig, Piper, Forgotten One, Ikaris, Makkari, Starfox, and Zuras. Maybe Reeves will be playing one of these characters. Starfox could be a cool role for him, but he would also fit the villainous role of Druig.
The Eternals was created by the legendary Jack Kirby, and the story is set millions of years ago “when the cosmic beings known as the Celestials genetically experimented on humans, creating the super-powered individuals as well as more villainous off-shoots known as the Deviants.” Those two groups went on to battle each other throughout history to see which would eventually become the ultimate race.
