Spider-Man Far From Home Tom Holland James BondIt looks as if we won’t be getting Tom Holland as James Bond after all as the Spider-Man: Far From Home star has debunked the recent casting rumors.

During a recent interview with Extra, Tom Holland was directly asked if he was going to be the next James Bond. At first, the Spider-Man: Far From Home star played it coy, stating that he had been cast as James Bond but somehow completely forgotten about it:

It’s all true, it’s all true. I would, yeah. I’m so excited that they’ve cast me, it’s really exciting. I’m really gonna change the game, and thanks for bringing that to my attention, I forgot about it. It just slipped my mind. But yeah, I’m Bond. Mr. James Bond.

Tom Holland then went on to praise both Spider-Man and James Bond, stating that he always wanted to play both characters but was perfectly happy to just play one:

It’s funny, as a kid growing up, the two characters I’ve always wanted to play was either Spider-Man or James Bond. I’m honestly perfectly happy with just the one, I love this character more than anything, and I realize how lucky I am. But that said, I would also like to play James Bond.

Tom Holland then, however, definitely confirmed that he was not cast in James Bond and could not at this stage of his career:

I couldn’t play James Bond now, though.

Veteran X-Men producer Simon Kinberg makes his directorial debut with Dark Phoenix in addition to producing the film with Hutch Parker, Lauren Schuler Donner and Todd Hallowell. Dark Phoenix is expected to be Fox's final X-Men film featuring the core X-Men cast in the cinematic universe launched by director Bryan Singer in 2000 with the Disney-Fox merger now complete.

X-Men: Dark Phoenix stars James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Tye Sheridan, Sophie Turner, Alexandra Shipp, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Evan Peters, and Jessica Chastain. Here's the film's synopsis:

“This is the story of one of the X-Men’s most beloved characters, Jean Grey, as she evolves into the iconic DARK PHOENIX.  During a life-threatening rescue mission in space, Jean is hit by a cosmic force that transforms her into one of the most powerful mutants of all.  Wrestling with this increasingly unstable power as well as her own personal demons, Jean spirals out of control, tearing the X-Men family apart and threatening to destroy the very fabric of our planet.  The film is the most intense and emotional X-Men movie ever made. It is the culmination of 20 years of X-Men movies, as the family of mutants that we’ve come to know and love must face their most devastating enemy yet — one of their own.”

Dark Phoenix is set to hit theaters on June 7, 2019. Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for the latest news on the future of the X-Men.
