Worlds Collide In First Teen Titans Go! Vs. Teen Titans Trailer

Though I’ll always remain a Justice League Unlimited guy first and foremost, I’ll admit that I do like seeing DC’s younger heroes getting a chance to shine. Whether it be Young Justice or DC Super Hero Girls, we’ve seen drastically different productions meeting the needs of audiences in recent years, with each filling an important niche.

Actually, I’d be remiss if not mentioning Teen Titans and Teen Titans Go!, two series featuring the same cast which happen to be radically dissimilar in tone. Of course, there is some overlap on the Venn diagram when it comes to viewership, but there remain fans of the original series who simply don’t dig the current iteration.

Believe it or not, universes are soon set to collide in the ambitious Teen Titans Go! vs Teen Titans, which has now had the curtain pulled back on it. If you take some time to check out the trailer embedded at the top of this article, you’ll see the two teams battle each other at first, before being forced to unite against two Trigons.

When it comes to the voice cast, that’ll consist of the following talents: Greg Cipes as Beast Boy, Scott Menville as Robin, Khary Payton as Cyborg, Tara Strong as Raven and Hynden Walch as Starfire, with Kevin Michael Richardson as Trigon/Hexagon, Robert Morse as Santa Claus, Grey Griffin as Mrs. Claus, Rhys Darby as Master of Games, Sean Maher as Nightwing and “Weird Al” Yankovic as Gentleman Ghost and Darkseid.

As you may have noticed, Sean Maher’s Nightwing stuck out like a sore thumb. Not having seen the picture as of yet for myself, I can say that brings the Dick Grayson tally to three at this point. Maher has notably voiced Nightwing in a variety of direct-to-video Batman flicks, so it sounds like more than two universes may factor into the story.

Teen Titans Go! vs. Teen Titans currently lacks a release date, but it’s expected to arrive on Blu-ray and DVD sometime this year. Now that the trailer is out in the open, a press release containing such information is likely imminent, so keep watching this space.
