A fan has spotted a heartbreaking connection to Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 in Avengers: Endgame.
Within the first fifteen minutes of Avengers: Endgame, Rocket Raccoon discovered that he was the only Guardians of the Galaxy team member to survive Thanos’ decimation when Nebula was the only one to emerge from the Benatar with Tony Stark. Now, one fan has pointed out that Rocket Raccoon honored Peter Quill/Star-Lord by wearing the scarf his comrade donned in James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.

Of course, Peter Quill and the other Guardians of the Galaxy team members who were victims of Thanos’ decimation were brought back by the surviving heroes and are set to return in the group’s third standalone film. While production on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 was scheduled to begin early this year, the project was put on hold following the decision to remove Gunn as the director of the final chapter in the trilogy. Now, James Gunn will begin production on the third Guardians of the Galaxy film after completing work on The Suicide Squad for Warner Bros. and DC. Details on the third and final chapter of James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy are currently unknown, though the film will likely explore the ramifications of the universe-changing events in Avengers: Endgame.

New ‘Avengers: Endgame’ Character Posters Feature Surviving & Fallen Heroes
Marvel Studios released new Avengers: Endgame character posters for both the surviving and fallen heroes of Thanos' decimation in Infinity War.
Nearly one year ago, fans were devasted when Avengers: Infinity War concluded with Thanos carrying out his mission to eradicate half of the population in the universe, including several MCU heroes. In exactly one month, fans will finally discover how the surviving Avengers plan to avenge their fallen comrades and potentially undo Thanos' decimation with the help of newcomer Captain Marvel (Brie Larson). Now, Marvel Studios has released several character posters not only for the surviving heroes who will embark on a game-changing mission in Endgame but also for those who fell victim to Thanos' eradication in Infinity War.
The line-up includes Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Brie Larson as Captain Marvel, Bradley Cooper's Rocket Raccoon, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Paul Rudd as Ant-Man, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, and many more!

Endgame will serve as both a follow up to Avengers: Infinity War as well as the conclusion to the 22 films that came before it, which have now been dubbed as the Infinity Saga by Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige, before Marvel kicks off Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Spider-Man: Far From Home in July.
While plot details still remain under wraps, Earth's Mightiest Heroes are expected to team up with Brie Larson's Captain Marvel and utilize the Quantum Realm in their efforts to undo the decimation from Thanos' snap and bring back half of the universe's population, who were turned to dust by the Mad Titan.
