If there’s one movie we desperately want to know more about, it’s definitely The Batman. When it comes to the DC Extended Universe, Warner Bros. has made a few missteps with the Caped Crusader, but we’re keen to see where Matt Reeves (of Cloverfield and War for the Planet of the Apes fame) takes the franchise moving forward. Of course, while the film’s creative team has largely been reported on in the past, there are still a lot of other details that are up in the air.
For one, the cast remains a mystery, and even though multiple outlets have revealed Twilight star Robert Pattinson will be donning the cowl, Warner Bros. has yet to confirm who’ll be playing the titular hero. Plenty of high profile celebs have thrown their hat into the ring when it comes to supporting characters, though; Sucker Punch star Vanessa Hudgens has been campaigning to play Catwoman, while the Winter Soldier himself, Sebastian Stan, has shown interest in taking on the role of The Riddler. There are plenty of rumors surrounding the movie’s production, too, and now, Heroic Hollywood is reporting that The Batman is set to start filming later this year.
As the outlet notes, a new tweet from UK Production News has indicated that director Matt Reeves is looking to start shooting in the UK in the fall. Of course, this report hasn’t been confirmed by any official source, but it’s worth noting both Justice League and the upcoming Wonder Woman 1984 were also shot in London.
If one thing is for certain, it’s that The Batman will certainly be the subject of speculation for some time to come. We’ll keep reporting on the latest news and rumors though as we wait for Warner Bros. to finally shed some light on the upcoming film, so be sure to stay tuned.
