‘Avengers: Endgame’ Crosses $800M Domestic; ‘Aladdin’ Launches To $105M Opening

Avengers Endgame Chris Hemsworth Thor Mark Ruffalo Hulk Black Widow Scarlett Johansson Bob Iger DIsneyThe weekend numbers have come in and Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Endgame is set to cross over $800 million at the domestic box office this weekend while Disney’s Aladdin revisits a familiar world and opens up to over $105 million.

Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Endgame is knock, knock, knocking on Avatar‘s door and over Memorial Day weekend took another step in the right direction as it comes to cross the $800 million mark at the box office. Avengers: Endgame currently sits at $2.677 billion, just under $111 million from passing Avatar as the number one grossing movie in the world.

Disney’s live-action Aladdin movie proved unaffected by the blue Genie (Will Smith) backlash and is launching to over $105 million, topping Disney’s previous best three day opening with Solo: A Star Wars Story. Aladdin was estimated to bring in an optimistic $86 million so the results have surely floored Disney since it’s made over half its budget back on opening weekend.

Either way, with the success of Aladdin and the continuing success of Avengers: Endgame, it looks like Disney’s dominance at the box office will keep on going as we lead up to the release of its second live-action film of the year in a retelling of The Lion King.

What are your thoughts on this last weekends box office numbers? What do you think the ceiling will be for Avengers: Endgame or Aladdin? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below!

Here’s a short synopsis for Avengers: Endgame:

The grave course of events set in motion by Thanos that wiped out half the universe and fractured the Avengers ranks compels the remaining Avengers to take one final stand in Marvel Studios’ grand conclusion to twenty-two films, “Avengers: Endgame.”

Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, Avengers:Endgame stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Paul Rudd, Brie Larson, Karen Gillan, Danai Gurira, Benedict Wong, Jon Favreau, Bradley Cooper, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Josh Brolin.

Top Actors To Replace Ben Affleck In Matt Reeves’ ‘The Batman’

Batman Ben Affleck Matt ReevesBen Affleck is officially out as Batman and it’s a pretty sad day.

Words cannot describe how sad I am to see Ben Affleck announce that he’s no longer Batman. His Batman is why I do what I do. In Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, I fell in love with his comic book-accurate interpretation of the Caped Crusader. It was a breath of fresh air and it felt like we finally had the one true Batman.

Three years have quickly sped by and we’re officially going to receive a new Batman for his next movie. Last night, Ben Affleck announced that he will not return as the Dark Knight in Matt Reeves’ The Batman and now everyone’s attention has moved towards wanting to know who the next Bruce Wayne will be. Matt Reeves is said to want an actor that’s around 20 years younger than Affleck while Warner Bros. wants someone older. My guess is that Reeves wants a fresh start while the studio wants an older actor for crossover potential.

In this list, I will discuss the actors I think can replace Ben Affleck as Batman using the parameters that Matt Reeves and Warner Bros. want. Hit Next to see our picks to play the Batman.
